Lock your bike with an RFID card or via the Dat Bike app

2. Control the vehicle

2.1. Unlock/lock the vehicle

Dat Bike brings a completely new approach to protecting your vehicle. The car does not use a physical key, but uses an app on a phone that is connected by Bluetooth to the car or uses an RFID card to open or lock the car. The car does not have any locks, so you will never have to worry about thieves picking the lock to open the car again.

Similar to Weaver, Weaver 200 is not equipped with a neck lock. The truth is that collar locks contribute very little to anti-theft protection and can be broken within seconds by an experienced person.

2.1.1. Use the phone app

With the Dat Bike app, you just need to walk closer and squeeze the brake, the bike will turn on automatically.

Watch the video tutorial here: Video tutorial for using the Dat.Bike app

Connect the app to the car

Download Dat Bike app on AppStore (iOS) or Google Play (Android).

  • iOS: from iOS 11.0 and above
  • Android: from version 11 and below

The App connects to the car via Bluetooth, so before connecting, you need to make sure Bluetooth on your phone is turned on.

Note : make sure the vehicle to be connected is not connected to another phone nearby.

  1. Observe the car's LCD screen before connecting to the app to see if it is on or off
  2. Go to Dat.Bike app
  3. Click on the magnifying glass search icon on the right corner of the screen. The app will now display Weaver 200 vehicles near you
  4. Choose a vehicle with the same chassis number as your vehicle
  5. Enter the password (In this step you can enter the password as you like, but if you want to use multiple phones to connect to the car, you need to remember to set the same password. However, at the same time, there is only one phone phone connected to the vehicle)
  6. Select Submit to proceed with the connection
  7. Place the RFID tag horizontally perpendicular to the reader. At this time, the car light or LCD will change state (at first it was off, it will turn on, and vice versa, when it was initially on, it will turn off).
  8. When successfully connected, vehicle information will be updated on the app
  9. Note that next time if you want to connect to the car using the app, you only need the phone to be close to the car and the app to be running in the background. At this time, if you want to open the car, the safety switch (red button) must be open and you just need to squeeze the brake

In some cases you cannot connect the app to the car, it may be due to some new changes or updates to the firmware leading to incompatibility with the old connection that previously existed on the phone, then the app There will be a read/write bluetooth error and you can no longer connect the app to the car.

At this point, you need to delete your car (if any) in Settings → Bluetooth of the phone, then Restart (restart) bluetooth + enable/restart device location (if Android version 11+), and connect again.

Adjust distance limit

You can set the distance between the phone and the car that the car can turn on or off by itself. For this operation, because the app connects to the car via Bluetooth, you need to be near the car before doing it.

There are 4 distance levels you can choose from:

  • Near the
  • Medium
  • Distant
  • Further

If you select the distance as Near and while driving the vehicle is disconnected, you will need to select a longer distance again. The bluetooth signal of each type of phone is different, so the level of proximity or distance depends on each phone.

Note: For some Android phones, select "Far" to avoid shutdown.

Add RFID tag to vehicle

After successfully connecting to the vehicle, you can add new RFID tags to the vehicle, however each vehicle can only store a maximum of 2 tags.

  1. Place the new RFID tag on the vehicle's RFID reader
  2. Open the Dat.Bike app
  3. On the main screen of the Dat.Bike app, select your bike
  4. Select Add new card
  5. Select Add card
  6. The App will display a notification that the card was successfully added

Note:

Because each vehicle has a maximum of 2 cards stored, the new card may overwrite the old card in use, you may need to check to see if the old card (if any) is still active or not.

You can buy a card yourself to add to your car (or use a smart watch, token, etc.), just need the card to be compatible with the Mifare 1k 13.56MHz standard.

Many people use the same car

When multiple people use the same bike, each person can download the Dat Bike app and connect to the bike. However, at the same time, only one phone is connected to the car.

To install the app for relatives to use your car, you do the same thing as installing the app for the first time.

You and your relative need to enter the same password when adding a vehicle. Your relative can enter a different password than you did at first, but at that time the app connecting to your car on other phones will be disabled. At this point, you need to delete the app, then redownload the app, and reinstall it.

‍ 2.1.2. Use RFID tags

How to open/lock the car: Place the RFID card horizontally perpendicularly on the RFID card reader on the car for 0.5 seconds (do not slide the card because the reader may not be able to recognize it due to lack of time).

2.2. Start the car

After unlocking the car, the screen will light up and display information as shown below:

A. Turn signal left

B. Headlights (high beam)

C. Right turn signal

D. Ambient temperature

E. Battery level indicator

F. Speed

G. Battery voltage

H. ODO

I. Speed line

If you want to move, you just need to turn the throttle.

Note:

  1. ODO / Trip: When the vehicle is first started, this position will display the total number of kilometers traveled (ODO). After about 5 seconds, the screen will switch to displaying the number of kilometers traveled since turning on the car (Trip).
  2. When the vehicle is running, a temporary pressure drop will occur (for example from 74V to 71V). This is normal with the lithium-ion battery that Dat Bike uses. To calculate the remaining battery life accurately, stop the car for a moment and look up the table above.
  3. The vehicle's acceleration is very fast, you need to pay special attention to turning the throttle slowly the first few times you use it to avoid losing control and endangering yourself and other road users.
  4. Battery voltage is the number that most realistically reflects the remaining battery capacity. To calculate battery percentage based on voltage, use the following table:
Batery percent Voltage
100% 82V
80% 78V
60% 75V
40% 71V
20% 68V
0 61V

2.3. Actively turn off the vehicle

In addition to the ways to turn on/off the car above, you can also actively turn off the car by squeezing and holding the brake (or pressing the red safety lock button), then turn the turn signal to the left, wait for the turn signal to flash. light, then right. This allows you to proactively turn off the car in certain necessary situations (towing the car, limiting lights to the other person's face, etc.) without having to use a card.

3. Operation

3.1. Lock the switch

To increase the streamlined nature of the vehicle, Dat Bike only uses one switch shackle instead of two shackles like other vehicles. Details of control switches are as follows:

A. High/low beam switch (Lo/hi beam)

B. Passing light switch

C. Safety switch (Engine kill switch)

D. Turn signal light switch

E. Horn switch

  • Passing light switch
Continuous flash mode The location of the passing light is integrated behind the left switch cluster. To use the light, you just need to press the button continuously.

  • Engine kill switch
  • Release (Off) - vehicle operates normally

  • Click (On) - the vehicle will not receive signals from the accelerator. This design is intended to increase vehicle safety. Make it a habit to turn on the safety switch every time you stop to avoid unwanted accidental touches on the accelerator.

3.2. Brake

Similar to Dat Bike Weaver, Weaver 200 is also equipped with a braking system including hand brake and engine brake (regenerative brake). This is the most striking difference in Weaver's performance compared to other vehicles.

3.2.1. Engine brake

The engine brake is integrated into the electric throttle. This is a software-related feature, not hardware like a traditional handbrake.

When you want to slow down, just slowly release the accelerator and the car engine will brake automatically. You don't need to use the handbrake anymore. Driving is just "get on the gas - get off the gas", much easier and more convenient than "get on the gas - get off the gas - squeeze the brake" as experienced on conventional two-wheeled vehicles.

This special feature also helps recharge the battery every time you lower the throttle (about 10%), helping to increase travel distance. In addition, the lifespan of the vehicle's brake pads is also increased, because they are used less.

Turning the electric throttle in direction (A) will supply energy to the electric motor to move the vehicle forward. The energy supplied to the electric motor is proportional to the angle of turning the electric throttle.

Slowly release the throttle to the original position (N) and the engine brake will activate. The degree of grip of the engine brake is proportional to the angle of releasing the electric throttle (the more you release the throttle, the harder the vehicle will grip).

3.2.2. Hand brake

Dat Bike Weaver 200 is equipped with a handbrake like other two-wheeled vehicles.

For electric vehicles, when using the handbrake, the engine will turn off to ensure safety. When you want to get on the gas again, just release the handbrake completely and turn the throttle back up.

3.2.3. Battery lock system

The battery lock system helps protect the battery, minimizing battery waste if there is no need to use the vehicle for a long time.

To activate the battery lock system, follow the steps below:

  1. Connect App Dat Bike and vehicle.
  2. Press "Change" , then "Turn off battery" you press "Off" (after turning off the battery, you will not be able to turn on the car again).

To reopen the battery, do the following:

1. Plug in the battery for about 10 minutes minutes (to know whether the battery is open or not, you swipe RFID card, The car starts normally, meaning the battery is open).

Note:
Recommended 80% - 90% battery is the best level you can turn off the battery. From the time the battery is turned off, you should open the battery and check the vehicle every 2 weeks to ensure the vehicle's operation is in the best condition.

3.3. Take the car

When the car is unlocked, you will feel heavy when driving. That's because the engine brake is working. In this case, you can turn off the vehicle engine to make driving easier.

4. Battery

4.1. How to charge the car

  1. Open the charging port cover.
  2. Check and make sure the charging port is dry and free of standing water. If so, you need to dry it/wait for it to dry before plugging in the charger
  3. Plug the AC end of the charger into an electrical outlet.
  4. Connect the DC end of the charger to the car's charging port.
  5. Check the LED light on the charger to ensure the vehicle is being charged.
  6. Close the charging port cover after charging is complete.

4.2. Notes on car charging

Unlike other types of batteries/accumulators, you can charge the Dat Bike Weaver 200 battery whenever it is convenient for you without having to worry about the battery draining, without having to wait until the battery is completely empty.

The charger for Dat Bike Weaver 200 has high capacity so it needs to be plugged into an outlet that can withstand at least 3,000W of power. Dat Bike recommends that you plug the charger directly into a wall outlet, designed to withstand devices with a capacity of 3,500-4,000W.

In case you must use a socket or extension cord, you need to ensure that these devices can provide continuous current at 15A and should have a conductor cross-section of at least 2.5mm2. The current limit parameters of the sockets are usually written on the product by the manufacturer, please find out your device before charging.

The charger has been designed to ensure safety. Therefore, when the battery is fully charged, the charger will automatically disconnect from the current.

Note:

  1. Dat Bike recommends not sharing a vehicle charger with other electrical devices on the same outlet, to avoid overloading the outlet, causing a fire or explosion.
  2. If you intend to not use the vehicle for a long period of time (> 7 days), charge the battery to 76V before storing the vehicle in storage, recheck every 20 days, and if the battery capacity is still below 65V, you need to recharge the battery. This will help the battery achieve its longest life.
  3. The battery may be partially or completely damaged if the battery is fully discharged after a long period of time without being charged.

5. Some notes when using the vehicle

5.1. Excess capacity

When excessive power is detected continuously for 7 seconds, the vehicle's battery system will automatically disconnect power to protect the battery and ensure safety. In this case, the throttle and motor will be disconnected, and the LCD screen will flash. This is a last-mile protection feature to ensure safety for the vehicle and users. This means it can only happen when one of the other systems on the vehicle has failed and is not working as expected. Please contact Dat Bike to fix it.

5.2. Engine braking when battery is full

In case the battery is full and you are driving on a flat road, the vehicle's engine brake will still work normally. However, if the vehicle has a full battery, drives down a steep slope and the engine brake is still operating, then the engine brake will continuously recharge the battery and cause overvoltage. At this time, Dat ESC will detect abnormal charging voltage and disconnect the vehicle's power to protect the battery. In the above case, you should gently reduce and regulate the engine braking force as instructed in section 3.2.1 to avoid the amount of recharged electricity causing overvoltage on the battery. At the same time, remember to apply hydraulic brakes if the vehicle speed is pushed too high. If a shutdown occurs, wait a few seconds and then turn the bike back on or contact Dat Bike customer service for support.

5.3. High temperature

When driving fast for a long time (1 hour or more), the vehicle's engine may overheat because it cannot dissipate heat promptly. In this case, the vehicle will automatically reduce power and slow down. If the temperature still increases, it will stop completely to protect the engine. At that time, the LCD screen and other electrical devices will still work, but the motor will not be able to rotate. The Weaver 200 engine has better heat dissipation than the Weaver, so you just need to slow down or put it in a cool place for 15 minutes and the car can operate normally again.

5.4. Car wash

Regularly cleaning your car will maintain its longevity.

If you live near the ocean, sea salt or road salt can increase your car's chances of rusting. Therefore, always remember to wash your car thoroughly after driving on roads near the sea or with salt on the road.

How to wash the car:

  1. The engine and high-temperature parts need to be allowed to cool completely before washing the car.
  2. Check to make sure the charging ports are closed and the connectors are tightened.
  3. Remove mud from the vehicle with a low-pressure water hose. Do not use high pressure water hose to spray connectors, battery and charging port.
  4. If necessary, use a sponge or soft cloth dipped in a mild cleaning solution to clean the vehicle. You should buy specialized car washing solution. Using dishwashing liquid or laundry detergent will reduce the durability of the paint layer.
  5. Rinse the vehicle with plenty of water.
  6. Dry the car. Open the charging port and connectors to check if there is any water left. If so, wipe it dry before continuing to use.

5.5. Strange noise when driving the car

Brake pads are too new or dirty. You can use lubricant sprays like RP7 or WD-40 on the brake pads and that's it. Be sure to let it dry before using the vehicle.

6. Spare parts and toys for vehicles

Dat Bike is researching to be able to develop many models of spare parts and toys for vehicles, meeting the individualized needs and hobbies of customers. You can refer to some genuine available products from Dat Bike below.
