Shinhan Finance is a provider of payment solutions: buy now, pay later, helping customers pay for cars without a credit card. Let's learn about Shinhan Finance's installment payment program through the following article.

1. General information about Shinhan Finance

  • Shinhan Finance is a provider of Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) payment solutions, allowing customers to pay for their bike purchases without the need for a credit card.
  • Customers can enjoy installment payments with a preferential interest rate (0.99% per month), with Dat Bike supporting the installment conversion fee. They only need to make a minimum upfront payment of 20% of the product's value and can choose a flexible installment period (from 9 to 24 months).
  • The assessment for the installment amount is quick and simple (10 to 30 minutes) and requires only the customer's national ID card and household registration book/driver's license.

2. Information about the installment program

General information about the program
  • Shinhan's loan program applies to all Dat Bike models that are required to be registered with the competent state authority (meaning the bike has a registration certificate in the borrower's name).
  • The invoice for the bike can only be issued under the name of the participant in the installment program. Invoice issuance for companies, relatives, or friends is not supported if the customer chooses this payment method.
  • When participating in the installment program with Shinhan, customers will need to pay a minimum of 20% of the order value upfront. Each month, customers will make equal installment payments, which include both the principal balance and an interest of 0.99% per month calculated on the outstanding balance. Dat Bike will fully support the installment conversion fee.
  • Shinhan Finance will hold the original registration certificate of the bike for the customer throughout the installment period. After completing the purchase and installment registration, Dat Bike will assist the customer in registering the license plate and vehicle documents (the customer is still responsible for paying the registration fee and plate printing fee). Then, Dat Bike will hand over the original registration certificate to Shinhan as part of the installment file, and provide a notarized copy to the customer for travel documentation.
  • Customers may receive advice and have their loan applications reviewed online by Dat Bike or Shinhan Finance sales representatives. However, in the final step, customers will still need to visit one of Dat Bike's stores to sign the three-party contract.

- For salaried individuals: Valid employment contract, or paystub, or SMS Banking/Mobile Banking message showing salary deposits.

- For self-employed individuals: Business registration certificate or Certificate of business household registration: Provide a photocopy (bring the original for verification) OR a notarized true copy.

Note:

- Early settlement of the installment, if applicable, will take place directly between the customer and Shinhan Finance. Dat Bike will not be involved in this process.

- The fees incurred when the customer settles the installment early may vary according to Shinhan Finance's regulations. In addition, depending on the timing of the early settlement, Shinhan Finance may apply other fees to the customer. These costs will be specifically advised by Shinhan Finance staff when the customer requests early settlement of the installment.

In the case of changing or returning the vehicle according to the 2-day policy:

When a customer's installment request has been approved by Shinhan and a refund of the vehicle occurs, this means that the customer will settle the loan early. In this case, the customer will be exempt from early repayment and any accrued interest (if any). Therefore, the customer will receive a 100% refund of the order value, minus any discounts from promotions with Dat Bike (if any).

If a customer's installment request has been approved by Shinhan but a vehicle change arises, the request will only be considered if Shinhan Finance has not yet disbursed the customer's installment to Dat Bike. When there is an arising request for a vehicle change, Dat Bike's Customer Service Department will check the disbursement status of the installment and confirm the approval result with the customer.

3. Frequently asked questions

1. Will Shinhan Finance share the reasons for a customer's loan application being rejected?

No, due to the fact that the application process is automated and based on various data, Shinhan will not be able to provide an exact reason when a customer's loan application is rejected.

2. Can the customer or Dat Bike request a re-evaluation of a loan application that has been rejected by Shinhan Finance?

No, once the application has been rejected, it cannot be re-evaluated. In this case, the customer will be advised to use other payment methods supported by Dat Bike.

3. What is the minimum order value for customers to use Shinhan Finance?

Customers can use Shinhan Finance's products for orders with a minimum value of 10 million VND and a maximum of 100 million VND.

4. How many orders can a customer purchase at the same time?

At one time, a customer can only use Shinhan Finance's product to purchase one single order. According to Shinhan Finance's regulations, one order is allowed to include a maximum of one vehicle product. Therefore, a customer can purchase an order including one vehicle and various spare parts and accessories, but cannot purchase an order with two vehicles or purchase two different orders. If a customer wishes to purchase multiple vehicles or multiple orders at the same time, they can combine the use of other payment methods supported by Dat Bike.

5. Will Shinhan remind customers before each monthly due date?

Yes, Shinhan Finance will send a Zalo message to the customer's registered phone number as stated in the loan contract to remind them of the monthly due date.

6. Will there be a penalty if a customer pays late?

Yes, the customer will be charged overdue interest and late payment interest according to Shinhan Finance's policy at the time of late payment. Therefore, Dat Bike encourages customers to always pay attention to the monthly due date and make timely payments to avoid unnecessary incurred costs.

7. IIf a customer settles the loan early, will they have to pay an additional fee?

Yes, the customer can refer to the fee schedule for early settlement in the "Fee Schedule for Early Settlement" section. However, please note that the fees incurred when a customer settles the installment early may vary according to Shinhan Finance's regulations. In addition, depending on the timing of the early settlement, Shinhan Finance may apply other fees to the customer. These costs will be specifically advised by Shinhan Finance staff when the customer requests early settlement of the installment.

8. Does the customer need to be present at Dat Bike's store for loan approval?

Yes, for the utmost convenience of the customer, Dat Bike and Shinhan Finance may carry out the loan consultation and approval process through online communication channels. However, once it has been determined that Shinhan Finance's product will be used, the customer will need to arrange to visit one of Dat Bike's stores to sign the tripartite contract between Shinhan, Dat Bike, and the customer.

9. After completing the installment, how will the customer receive the original vehicle registration certificate (cavet)?

After the customer completes the installment, Shinhan Finance will directly contact to confirm the customer's preferred address to receive the original vehicle registration certificate (cavet), and then send the cavet by courier to that address.
