Installment payment program policy via Fundiin

Fundiin is a provider of buy now, pay later (BNPL) payment solutions, helping customers pay for cars without a credit card. Let's learn about Fundiin's installment payment program through the following article.

1. General information about Fundiin

  • Fundiin is a provider of Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) payment solutions, allowing customers to pay for their motorcycles without the need for a credit card.
  • Customers can make interest-free installment payments, only needing to pay a one-time installment conversion fee in their first payment with Dat Bike. The installment conversion fee may change over time and will be specifically advised by Dat Bike before payment.
  • The installment approval process is quick (within approximately 5 seconds) with one image of the customer's ID card and one selfie on Fundiin's web platform.
  • The approval process can be done 100% online, and customers do not need to be present at Dat Bike's store to have their loan application reviewed.
  • Customers are NOT required by Fundiin or the bank to retain the vehicle registration certificate (cavet) during the installment period.

2. Information about installment payment program

General information about the program

  • Currently, Fundiin's loan product is only applicable to new Weaver++ motorcycle orders, and does not apply to trade-in or refurbished motorcycle purchases.
  • The invoice for the motorcycle can only be issued under the name of the participant in the installment plan. There is no support for issuing invoices for companies, relatives, or friends if the customer chooses this payment method.
  • When participating in the installment plan with Fundiin, customers will need to make an upfront payment of at least 40% of the order value, along with an installment conversion fee for Dat Bike. The remaining portion can be paid according to one of the following terms.

In the next 12 payment periods, each payment period is 1/12 of the remaining outstanding balance


Note some terms:

  • Order value is the total amount the customer must pay to Dat Bike when purchasing the Product and choosing the installment payment option.
  • Remaining balance is the remaining amount that the customer must pay to Fundiin after deducting the amount already paid as an upfront payment.
  • Service fee is the fee that the customer must pay to Fundiin to offset the expenses incurred by Fundiin for operating and maintaining the platform, such as automatic calling costs, payment reminders, etc., when extending the payment period for the customer. Dat Bike will bear the entire service fee for the customer when financing with Fundiin, meaning the customer will be exempt from all service fees when purchasing a bike with Dat Bike.

  • The customer's conversion fee for installment payment will be paid only once in the first installment period, and will be paid directly to Dat Bike.
  • The customer's conversion fee for installment payment may change if Dat Bike and Fundiin adjust their agreement. In case of any changes, the fee will be updated in this article.

Regulations regarding the case of refunding the bike

When the customer's installment request has been approved by Fundiin and a refund of the vehicle is required, Dat Bike will proceed with the refund for the customer according to the following terms:

  • The customer's conversion fee for installment payment, which they are responsible for, will not be refunded.
  • Dat Bike's conversion fee for installment payment, equivalent to 10% of the order value, will be deducted from the total refund amount for the customer.
  • Dat Bike will bear the service fees and processing fees when liquidating the loan with Fundiin. The customer will not have these fees deducted from their refund amount.

3. Frequently asked questions

  1. What is the reason the customer was rejected?

Fundiin evaluates customer profiles based on a credit score calculated automatically from a vast amount of data, so Fundiin cannot provide specific reasons for approval or denial. However, customers need to ensure the minimum conditions for approval: (i) be at least 18 years old, (ii) be a Vietnamese citizen, (iii) own a registered phone number from Viettel, Mobifone, or Vinaphone. Additionally, Fundiin may also (temporarily) reject applications when there is insufficient data available to assess creditworthiness.

  1. From what order value can a customer use Fundiin?

Customers with orders valued at 1 MILLION VND or more are eligible to use Fundiin for deferred payments. However, based on the current agreement between Dat Bike and Fundiin, customers can only use Fundiin to purchase new products (Weaver++ bikes or upcoming models), and this does not apply to trade-in or refurbished orders.

  1. Why do some orders have a higher payment amount for period 1 than periods 2 and 3?

Through its automated system, Fundiin automatically approves different levels of support for each customer. In some cases, if the order value exceeds the supported limit that Fundiin can provide, the amount to be paid in the first installment may be higher than in the second and third installments.

  1. How many orders can a customer purchase?

For the first order with Fundiin, the customer must pay the entire second installment before being able to make a new purchase. Starting from the second order onwards, customers can buy multiple orders at the same time (each product counts as one order), as long as it falls within the limit supported by Fundiin.

  1. Does Fundiin remind customers before payment is due each month?

Five days before the payment deadline, Fundiin will call the customer to provide instructions on how to make the payment and remind them to pay on time. Customers can also download the Fundiin app on their phone and log in to monitor their installment plan and make payments proactively before the deadline.

  1. If a customer pays late, is there a penalty?

In case of late payment, Fundiin will impose a penalty of 1.2% on the outstanding balance of the order value for each overdue period and each late week. However, the total penalty will be capped at 25% of the order value in all cases. Customers can refer to Fundiin's general policy for more information here.

  1. Why is the prepayment amount required for Dat Bike different from the prepayment amount announced on Fundiin's website?

The initial payment amount (Installment 1) displayed on the Fundiin website does not include the conversion fee that the customer is responsible for. Therefore, there will be a difference between this amount and the actual upfront payment that the customer makes to Dat Bike. After receiving the upfront payment, including the conversion fee, from the customer, Dat Bike will combine it with the conversion fee that Dat Bike has to bear, and then transfer it to Fundiin according to the agreement between the two parties.

  1. If the customer settles the loan before maturity, do I have to pay additional fees?

No. Customers who choose to settle their payment early will not have to pay any penalties.

  1. Does the customer need to be present at the Dat Bike store for loan approval?

No. All procedures for loan approval and the first payment can be done online, under the guidance of Dat Bike and Fundiin sales staff.
